Make the vision plain

Our job is to make your mission plain that the people who see it run with it.

Our job is to make your mission so plain that the people who see it run with it. That idea comes straight from Habakkuk 2:2. It’s the heart of why I started R7 Creative.

“Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” Habakkuk 2:2

When God told me to start this company, that was the premise. Our clients vision so plain that their ideal customers are compelled to run with it.

What does “make it plain” mean?

Plain means a potential customer gets it the first time.

They don’t need you to explain it. They read it, they understand it, and they know what to do next.

It takes more work to say something simply than to say it with big words.

Who is the vision written for?

The vision is written for the reader. For Businesses, that’s your potential customer. For ministries, it’s the people God has called you to serve.

You don’t write your message for yourself. You write it so the one who reads it can run.

That changes how you write. You stop describing yourself. You start showing the reader how their lives can be transformed.

What does running with it look like?

It depends on who’s reading. Here’s what it can look like:

  • A customer calls and books the job.
  • A happy customer refers you.
  • A partner gives financially to your ministry work.
  • A volunteer signs up.
  • A church member brings a friend.
  • An evangelist picks up a tool and uses it.

Each of those is someone running with your vision. Good marketing writes your vision plain and puts it in front of the right people.

Where does the vision need to show up?

Everywhere your people meet you:

  1. Websites. The home base where your vision is written out in full.
  2. Social media content. Where people see your vision lived out, week after week.
  3. Branding. How your vision looks and sounds, so people know it’s you.
  4. Email. Where you talk to people who already raised their hand.
  5. Ads. How you reach people who haven’t heard of you yet.

A brand that says one thing on its website and another on social media isn’t plain. It’s confusing. Confused people don’t run. They stop.

Why does plain matter so much?

If you can’t understand it you can’t do anything with it.

You can have the right mission. You can have a real call from God in your business or ministry. And you can still lose people because they can’t tell what you do or why it matters to them.

Most kingdom business owners and ministry leaders are busy doing the work. Marketing gets pushed to later. That’s where we come in.

How do we make your vision plain?

We work in three steps:

  1. Start with your mission. We bring every new client through a discovery process.
  2. Write it the way your people talk. We write your brand and positioning documents.
  3. Put it everywhere they’ll see it. Your website, your social media and your Google Business Profile, and more, all saying the same thing.
